Toyota has been working on solid-state batteries for more than a decade and has more than 1,300 solid-state patents. The company plans to bring solid-state technology to market in 2027, claiming a range of more than 600 miles and a charging time of just 10 minutes. However, Toyota has also warned that the promotion of solid-state batteries will be slow and that initial production will only meet the needs of a few hundred thousand vehicles.
