After years of rapid growth, China's lithium battery industry is currently facing the dilemma of overcapacity and price wars. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the total output of lithium batteries in China will exceed 940GWh in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 25%. However, the capacity utilization rate of the entire industry has dropped below 40%, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises, where the capacity utilization rate is generally below 30%.
