Daihatsu's operations outside Japan to be taken over by Toyota

Toyota Motor Corp. will take over Daihatsu Motor Corp.'s compact car development and certification business outside Japan after the automaker was forced to halt all deliveries due to manipulation of crash safety test results. All but one model has now been confirmed to meet domestic Japanese standards and shipments have resumed.
