Tata Group to build battery factory in Gujarat, India

Tata Group announced that it would build a battery factory in Sanand, northern Gujarat, India, with an investment of 130 billion rupees and an initial planned production capacity of 20GWh. This move aims to strengthen the independent supply capacity of the industrial chain of Tata's automobile brands and promote the company's electrification transformation. In the Indian market, Tata Motors has a market share of nearly 70% of the electric vehicle market with a wide range of electric vehicle models, such as Nexon EV, Tigor EV, Tiago EV, Xpres-T, etc.
