Eaton Launches New 48-Volt Aftertreatment Heater Controller

Eaton, an intelligent power management company, announced that it will provide a new 48-volt programmable aftertreatment electric heater controller to a global commercial vehicle manufacturer. The controller is designed to optimize engine performance, reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, and maintain the temperature of the catalyst during low-load operation. Eaton successfully won this contract with its expertise in low-voltage power conversion and power electronics. In addition, Eaton also provides a range of 48-volt electrical system products, including electric heating solutions from 2 to 15 kilowatts, with an operating efficiency of up to 99%. These technologies are particularly important when global automakers face stricter emission standards.
