The foundation of a water treatment station built between 1910 and 1914 was discovered at a construction site in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. To record and protect this historical site, archaeologists used 3D laser scanning technology. Using the Trimble X7 scanner, Catalyst GNSS positioning service, RealWorks office software, and SiteVision augmented reality system, they successfully created an accurate 3D model of the water treatment station. This process is divided into four steps: data collection, GNSS measurement, 3D modeling, and on-site visualization.
