BorgWarner and Wolfspeed Collaborate

Recently, Wolfspeed, a global leader in silicon carbide technology, and BorgWarner, a provider of innovative and sustainable solutions for the automotive market, reached a strategic cooperation. BorgWarner invested $500 million to ensure sufficient supply of silicon carbide devices. The two parties signed a long-term agreement, and BorgWarner will purchase up to $650 million of devices annually based on demand. The application of silicon carbide technology in key components of electric vehicles such as traction inverters, on-board chargers (OBCs) and DC-DC converters improves system efficiency, shortens charging time and extends battery life.
