EHang EH216 successfully completed its first manned autonomous flight demonstration in Japan

On February 17, 2023, EHang's EH216 autonomous aerial vehicle successfully completed its first manned flight demonstration in Oita City, Japan, marking the first time that Japan has achieved eVTOL manned flight. The flight was approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan, without a pilot, and carried two passengers along Tanoura Beach. Oita Mayor Juichiro Sato and MASC Chairman Hiroshi Kirino attended the event and expressed their expectations for the practical prospects of autonomous aerial vehicles. EHang will continue to promote the development of urban air traffic solutions in Japan.
