ION Storage Systems plans to build the largest solid-state battery factory in the United States

On May 6, ION Storage Systems, a US solid-state battery manufacturer, announced that it will build the largest solid-state battery factory in the United States near its headquarters in Beltsville, Maryland. The factory is expected to start up this year with an initial production capacity of 1 megawatt-hour (MWh), and is expected to increase to 10 MWh by early 2025, with the ultimate goal of reaching 500 MWh in 2028.
