Since July 1, the Chinese market has officially implemented the GB 15084-2022 standard, allowing motor vehicles to use electronic (exterior) rearview mirrors (CMS). Brands such as Lotus and Avita have taken the lead in trying it. However, the high cost makes CMS mostly an optional configuration and difficult to popularize. For example, the optional price of CMS for Lotus ELETRE is 16,000 yuan, while the optional price for SAIC Maxus is 5,000 yuan. In addition, the maintenance cost of CMS is much higher than that of traditional rearview mirrors.
