CATL invests in multiple auto companies to expand its business areas

CATL has invested in many car companies in the field of complete vehicles, including traditional car companies such as Chery and Changan, as well as new car manufacturers such as Zeekr, Aiways, and Avita. In 2021, CATL invested 2.42 billion yuan in Avita and became its second largest shareholder. In 2022, CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Chery Group and acquired a stake in Chery Holdings. In 2023, CATL participated in Zeekr's US$750 million Series A financing, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement on business cooperation and advanced technology empowerment with BAIC Group.
