New ring-shaped SAW gyroscope performs well in harsh environments

A research team from Northwestern Polytechnical University has developed a new type of ring-shaped surface acoustic wave (SAW) gyroscope that uses focused interdigital transducer (FIDT) technology, which enables it to perform excellently in harsh environments. This new type of gyroscope does not use the traditional suspension vibration mechanism, so it has great application potential in harsh environments such as geological exploration and oil drilling.
