Metalenz and STMicroelectronics collaborate to deliver next-generation ToF sensors

In June 2022, Metalenz and STMicroelectronics (ST) collaborated to provide the new generation FlightSense™ time-of-flight (ToF) ranging sensor VL53L8, which uses meta-lenses in both the transmitting and receiving windows. It is suitable for smartphones, smart speakers, human-computer interaction interfaces, consumer laser radar (LiDAR) and augmented reality (AR)/virtual reality (VR) devices, marking the entry of meta-lenses into the commercial application stage.
