Magna launches innovative 800V high-efficiency motor

Magna International Inc. showcased its new 800-volt high-efficiency electric drive motor ahead of the CES show in Las Vegas, setting new standards in efficiency, power-to-weight ratio and torque density. The motor has a peak power of 258kW, can generate a peak torque of 5000nM, has a maximum speed of 20,000rpm, weighs only 75kg, and has an efficiency of up to 93%. Magna has achieved higher efficiency through innovative cooling technology and embedded controller chips. In addition, the company has also adopted a number of technologies to combat bearing current problems and ensure stable operation of the motor.
