Volvo Cars acquires full ownership of Zenseact to strengthen independent software development

In order to ensure the full-stack internal development of software, Volvo Cars completed the full acquisition of Zenseact, a subsidiary for autonomous driving software development, at the end of 2022. This move marks a key step in Volvo Cars' software autonomy strategy, aiming to master the software autonomy of key functions of future cars. However, according to some Zenseact employees, the general lack of practical ability and decision-making experience among middle and senior management, coupled with the wide range of fields involved in full-stack development, has led to low internal work efficiency.
