At its investor day in March, Tesla announced a 75% reduction in the use of silicon carbide in its electric vehicles. The industry generally expects that silicon-based IGBTs will become a substitute for high-cost silicon carbide. Many automakers are also working with Tesla to develop new solutions, which may increase the application of silicon-based IGBTs.
