India will require photovoltaic and wind power projects to install energy storage devices

India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is about to introduce new policies that will make it mandatory to configure battery storage in new solar and wind power projects. The government plans to initially require renewable energy power plants to have storage capacity accounting for 10% of their total capacity, and may increase this proportion over time.
