CATL Consortium Signs Important Contract with Bolivian National Lithium Company

According to the news released by the Chinese Embassy in Bolivia, the Contemporary Amperex Technology (CBC) and the Bolivian National Lithium Company (YLB) signed the "Uyuni Salt Lake Lithium Carbonate Production Service Contract" on the 26th. The contract is worth US$1 billion (approximately RMB 7.24 billion). The Contemporary Amperex Technology (CBC) will build two lithium carbonate production plants in southwestern Bolivia. The Bolivian government will hold a 51% stake in the project, which is located in the Uyuni Salt Flat in southwestern Bolivia, in the so-called lithium triangle area. Omar Alarcon, head of the Bolivian National Lithium Company, said the two plants can produce 35,000 tons of lithium per year.
