Europe's largest battery energy storage project gets green light

Dutch developer Giga Storage plans to build a 600 MW/2,400 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Belgium, which will be the largest battery energy storage project in Europe. The project is expected to start construction in 2025 and be completed by 2028. Giga Storage plans to deliver 5GW of BESS projects in Europe by 2030.
