Infineon Technologies' third plant in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Malaysia, has been officially completed and started operation. The plant mainly produces silicon carbide (SiC) products and is expected to start mass production in 2025. Infineon Technologies said that it took only 13 months from the start of construction to completion of the first phase of Kulim Plant 3, which is a very fast progress. At present, the initial silicon carbide production is still mainly based on 6-inch wafers, but it is planned to fully switch to 8-inch wafers in 2027.
