Rapidus plans to mass produce the most advanced logic chips below 2nm in 2027

Rapidus aims to mass produce the most advanced logic chips below 2nm in 2027. Its first factory "IIM-1" in Chitose City, Hokkaido, started construction in September 2023. The pilot production line is scheduled to be put into use in April 2025, and mass production will begin in 2027. The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan has provided Rapidus with a subsidy of 330 billion yen. With the additional subsidy of about 590 billion yen to be added in 2024 as reported by the media, Rapidus is expected to receive a total subsidy of nearly 1 trillion yen.
