Silixa is a UK-based fiber optic sensing specialist that targets an estimated $1 billion market for its fiber optic sensing products, with major applications in the energy industry as well as mining, hydrology and defense. Silixa’s fiber optic sensing technology offers superior resolution and sensitivity compared to competitors, such as the Silixa fiber optic acoustic sensing “Carina” product line. The company said it achieved “revolutionary” improvements in sensing performance thanks to an advanced optoelectronic interrogator architecture and the introduction of a new proprietary “Constellation” optical fiber.
