Panasonic Energy considers additional investment in DeSoto to expand production capacity

Tesla battery supplier Panasonic Energy is reportedly considering increasing investment in DeSoto, Kansas, to expand its production capacity. The plan, known internally as Phase 3, may include adding a new production line. People familiar with the matter said the new plant would be comparable in size to the existing DeSoto plant and would primarily serve Tesla. Although the plan is still in its early stages, a final decision is expected by the end of this year.
