Horizon Robotics CEO Yu Kai: Building a Chinese version of Qualcomm, receiving investment from Sequoia and Hillhouse Capital

Yu Kai, founder and CEO of Horizon Robotics, said he hopes to seize the trend of the entire Internet of Things and robotics industry, rather than just individual opportunities. He aspires to become "Qualcomm or Intel in the robotics era", which is different from most Baidu executives who choose the direction of autonomous driving. Yu Kai's achievements in the field of artificial intelligence have attracted many investors, such as Sequoia China, Hillhouse Capital, and 5Y Capital, who invested more than $12 million shortly after Yu Kai started his business. As of the end of September 2022, Horizon Robotics has raised a total of $2.362 billion in 11 rounds of financing, with a valuation of $8.71 billion.
