U.S. regulators propose streamlining self-driving car exemption approval process

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is considering streamlining the process for approving exemptions for self-driving car manufacturers, a new process designed to speed the deployment of self-driving cars that don't have traditional human controls, such as steering wheels or brake pedals.
