Qualcomm has decided to abandon its acquisition of Autotalks, a designer of connected car chips. The deal, originally announced in May 2023, did not disclose the specific price. Autotalks' V2X chips can extend the vehicle's perception range and improve the collision safety of autonomous driving and advanced driver assistance systems. Founded in 2008, Autotalks has more than 100 employees. Since its inception, the company has raised more than $150 million in financing and has received support from major global investors including Samsung, Hyundai, Foxconn and Nuvoton Technology. Module manufacturers such as Quectel, Fibocom, Megtronic and Murata provide module solutions based on Autotalks chips. In addition, Autotalks has been working with local ITS protocol stack manufacturers such as Neusoft to provide complete software and hardware reference designs for the Chinese market.
