FAW Hongqi successfully trial-produced highly integrated and high torque density electric drive

FAW Hongqi announced that its Electric Drive Development Department of the R&D General Institute has successfully completed the research and development of high-integration and high-torque density electric drive technology. The project team has overcome a number of key technologies, including large-speed ratio planetary gear reducers, high-density and high-efficiency electromagnetic topology, integrated high-compact inverters, and full-domain deep frequency conversion control strategies. This has reduced the volume of the electric drive system by 39% and reduced the weight by 15%, thereby increasing the hybrid fuel tank capacity by about 7L, freeing up the height of the floor surface in the car, and increasing the luggage compartment space by 5-10L, providing users with more spacious use space and longer driving range.
