Huawei actively stocks CIS chips to cope with price increases

Huawei has reportedly recently stepped up its purchases of CMOS image sensors (CIS) to meet its aggressive shipment targets for foldable phones in 2024. Huawei's goal is to nearly triple its shipments from 2.6 million units in 2023 to 7 to 10 million units. As a key component, CIS chips have begun to rise in price, with Samsung, the world's second-largest manufacturer, raising its quotes by 25% to 30% this quarter.
