With the booming development of the silicon carbide industry, the number of mergers and acquisitions has continued to increase. For example, Rohm acquired Solar Frontier's former Guofu plant; ON Semiconductor acquired GTAT for $415 million; SK acquired DuPont's silicon carbide wafer division for $450 million; ST acquired Norstel AB for $137.5 million.
