Toyota plans to invest at least $1.6 billion to convert Thailand plant to produce hybrid vehicles

Toyota Motor will invest at least $1.6 billion to transform its Thai plant to produce hybrid vehicles. Akio Toyoda has pledged that Toyota will continue to make Thailand an important production base in Southeast Asia and will invest 55 billion baht (about $1.6 billion) in Thailand to expand the production of hybrid vehicles.
