China's silicon carbide industry will develop rapidly in 2023

In 2023, China's silicon carbide industry achieved rapid development. 8-inch silicon carbide substrate technology has made major breakthroughs. Sanan Optoelectronics, Tianyue Advanced, Tianke Heda and other companies have been recognized by international chip giants and signed long-term supply agreements. ST Company and Sanan Optoelectronics jointly established a silicon carbide device factory, with Sanan Optoelectronics responsible for substrate supply. Domestic silicon carbide substrate production capacity is gradually expanding, and the expansion projects of many manufacturers will reach mass production in 2023 or are increasing production capacity. Many silicon carbide power device startups have transformed from fabless to IDM, and some IDM startups have established their own silicon carbide fabs. In addition, silicon carbide wafer foundry production capacity has also increased, and the upstream and downstream production capacity of the domestic silicon carbide industry chain has increased significantly in the past year.
