CATL's production capacity will reach 552GWh in 2023, and its global market share will continue to lead

In 2023, CATL will have 13 battery production bases in China and 2 bases overseas, with a total annual production capacity of 552GWh. The company has a capacity of 100GWh under construction, and it is expected to reach 600-700GWh by 2024. Since 2021, CATL has added more than 100GWh of new capacity each year. Although the capacity utilization rate has declined, it still remains at 70.5% in 2023, which is higher than the industry average. According to SNE data, CATL's global market share in the field of power batteries was 36.8% in 2023, rising to 39.8% in January 2024, and its market share in the field of energy storage batteries was 40%. It is estimated that the global demand for power and energy storage batteries will be 1,200GWh in 2024, and CATL's production capacity is expected to meet more than 50% of global demand.
