GM to invest $632 million to upgrade Fort Wayne Assembly Plant

GM plans to invest $632 million in the Fort Wayne Assembly Plant to produce the next-generation internal combustion versions of the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. The plant, which has been home to members of UAW Local 2209 since it opened in 1986, can assemble more than 1,300 trucks a day and has more than 2,200 robots to assist employees.
