A Volkswagen POLO rear-ended a Xiaomi SU7 on the highway and caught fire, highlighting the safety of the SU7

Recently, a traffic accident has attracted public attention. A Xiaomi SU7 was rear-ended by a Volkswagen POLO while driving on the highway. Surprisingly, although only the bumper of the SU7 was damaged, the POLO immediately caught fire and burned spontaneously after the collision. According to the dashcam of the SU7, the SU7 was driving in the leftmost lane at the time. The vehicle in front suddenly braked, and the driver of the SU7 also stopped urgently, resulting in the driver of the Volkswagen POLO behind being unable to react and crashing into it. The impact was so strong that the front hood of the POLO immediately cracked and deformed, and flames quickly emerged and burned. It is speculated that the reason was that after the oil line was damaged, gasoline splashed onto the high-temperature engine and other parts, causing spontaneous combustion, and eventually the POLO was completely engulfed by the fire. Fortunately, the people in the car were able to escape safely. In contrast, although the rear bumper of the Xiaomi SU7 fell off and the tailgate was slightly dented, it was not a big deal overall, which further highlights the safety of the SU7.
