Toyota seeks Tesla-style treatment in Shanghai

Toyota is reportedly seeking similar treatment to Tesla in Shanghai, including tax breaks, policy support, land grants, and conditions to operate directly without a local joint venture partner. If successful, this would allow Toyota to operate its new plant solely and produce electric vehicles for the Lexus brand.
