BMW invests 100 million euros in new battery recycling center in Germany

BMW plans to invest 100 million euros to build a new battery recycling center in Germany, aiming to reduce the manufacturing cost of electric vehicles through innovative processes and establish a closed-loop system for battery production. The center will use direct recycling technology to directly use recycled raw materials in battery production, replacing traditional high-energy chemical and thermal processing methods. In this way, BMW can quickly obtain expensive raw materials such as lithium, cobalt, graphite, manganese, nickel and copper, thereby saving the cost and time of reusing these materials.
