BAK Battery achieves breakthrough in application of high-nickel materials

In ternary materials, the role of cobalt is to stabilize the layered structure of the material and improve the material's cycle and rate performance, but too high a cobalt content will result in a reduction in actual capacity; the role of nickel is to increase the volume energy density, but ternary materials with a high nickel content (i.e., high nickel) will also result in lithium-nickel mixing, resulting in lithium precipitation; the role of manganese is to reduce material costs, improve material safety and structural stability, but too high a manganese content will destroy the layered structure of the material and reduce the specific capacity of the material. Therefore, while battery manufacturers are pursuing the ultimate performance of positive electrode materials, they are also trying their best to overcome the negative effects they bring. Through long-term research and development and experiments, BAK Battery has made outstanding achievements in the study of film-forming characteristics of positive electrode materials and optimization of electrolyte formulas, and is one of the earliest battery companies in China to use high-nickel materials.
