Ways to reduce costs in the silicon carbide industry chain

51
Currently, the price of a 6-inch silicon carbide substrate is around US$1,000 per piece, several times that of traditional silicon-based semiconductors. The core cost reduction methods include increasing material utilization (developing towards larger sizes), reducing manufacturing costs (improving yields), and improving production efficiency (more mature crystal growth processes). In addition, cost reduction in the silicon carbide industry chain also needs to focus on process improvements at the crystal growth and machining ends.
