Application layer of SOME/IP protocol in OSI model

The SOME/IP protocol is located at the application layer (layer 7) in the OSI model. Its main responsibilities are to define service interfaces, message formats, requests and responses, and to provide service discovery and communication mechanisms. At the transport layer (layer 4), the SOME/IP protocol usually uses UDP or TCP as the transport protocol; at the network layer (layer 3), it uses the IP protocol for network transmission.
