Omdia report: Global semiconductor revenue in the first three quarters of 2024 increased by 26% year-on-year

The latest report from market research firm Omdia shows that global semiconductor revenue in the first three quarters of 2024 increased by 26% compared with the same period in 2023, reaching an increase of US$102 billion. This growth is mainly due to the strong demand for artificial intelligence and related semiconductor components. Omdia specifically mentioned that Nvidia and SK Hynix are two important companies that benefit from the wave of artificial intelligence, with Nvidia relying on its GPU products and SK Hynix relying on its high-bandwidth memory HBM. Among the 127 semiconductor companies analyzed by Omdia, only these two companies doubled their revenue in the first three quarters of 2024.
