Toyota plans to build new electric car factory in Shanghai

Toyota Motor announced that it will build a new electric vehicle factory in Shanghai, mainly producing Lexus brand models. The factory will follow the example of Tesla's Shanghai Super Factory and be built in a wholly-owned manner. Toyota has already identified the land for the factory in Shanghai, and the factory is expected to start production in 2027. The vehicles produced will mainly be for users in the Chinese market.
