Led by researcher Cui Guanglei, the research team of the Solid State Energy System Technology Center of Qingdao Institute of Bioenergy and Process Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, successfully designed a new type of homogenized cathode material. This material has the characteristics of high ionic conductivity, high electronic conductivity and high discharge specific capacity, which is superior to traditional layered oxide cathode materials. Its conductivity has increased by 1,000 times, and its specific capacity has also exceeded the current high-nickel cathode materials. In addition, the volume deformation of this material during the charge and discharge process is only 1.2%, which is much lower than the 50% of traditional materials. These excellent properties make this material have broad application prospects in all-solid-state lithium batteries, and are expected to accelerate the commercialization of all-solid-state lithium batteries.
