ACC plans to increase NMC battery production at French plant

Despite the market challenges, ACC announced plans to continue increasing production of nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries at its French plant. The decision comes after Stellantis announced a deal with China’s CATL to build a plant in Spain to produce lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries. NMC batteries are known for their higher energy density and cost, suitable for large, premium electric vehicles, while LFP batteries, while lower in density, are more affordable and suitable for smaller vehicles.
