Micron Technology's Xi'an packaging and testing plant expansion project breaks ground

Micron Technology announced on March 27 that its new packaging and testing plant in Xi'an has officially broken ground. The company announced in June 2023 that it would invest an additional RMB 4.3 billion in Xi'an, including the construction of this new plant, the introduction of new production lines, and the manufacture of a wider range of product solutions, such as mobile DRAM, NAND and SSD. In addition, Micron will also invest in multiple engineering laboratories in the Xi'an plant to improve the efficiency of product reliability certification, monitoring, fault analysis and debugging. The new plant is expected to be put into production in the second half of 2025, and production will be gradually increased according to market demand.
