Japan's Fuji Electric announced that it will invest 200 billion yen (about 10 billion yuan) in the next three years, mainly to expand its business in the semiconductor field, especially power semiconductors for electric vehicle power control. The company plans to build a new silicon carbide power semiconductor production line at its domestic factories in Japan to increase production capacity. Fuji Electric plans to mass-produce 6-inch silicon carbide power semiconductors at its Tsugaru factory starting in 2024 and improve production efficiency by expanding the wafer size.
