Hyundai Motor initially planned to develop automotive semiconductors using the 5nm process to ensure a stable supply of advanced chips for software-defined vehicles (SDVs). The company aims to use the process to design chips for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) in line with its SDV goals.
