Toyota plans to build an electric vehicle factory in Shanghai, mainly producing Lexus brand electric vehicles

According to Japanese media reports, Toyota Motor plans to build a new electric vehicle factory in Shanghai, mainly producing Lexus brand electric vehicles. The new factory is expected to start production in 2027 and will be wholly owned. Although Toyota and Lexus have not yet commented on this, analysts believe that building a factory in China to produce electric vehicles is a wise choice.
