Europe's three largest automakers consider partnership to counter threat from Chinese EV makers and Tesla

European auto giants Volkswagen, Renault and Stellantis are reportedly considering an unprecedented partnership to cope with growing competition from Chinese electric car makers and Tesla. Renault CEO Luca de Meo proposed establishing an Airbus-like company to integrate resources from Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom. Such a cooperation model can help automakers share the cost of manufacturing low-priced electric vehicles and benefit from greater economies of scale.
