NIO innovates tire blowout control system to improve electric vehicle safety

NIO recently announced an innovative tire blowout control system solution, which aims to improve the stability of electric vehicles after a tire blowout. The system includes key components such as tire pressure sensors, domain controllers, brake controllers, power control units, and suspension controllers. When a tire blowout is detected, the system automatically adjusts the brake cylinder pressure, torque, and wheel load of the blown axle and transfers them to the non-blown axle, thereby reducing the longitudinal force on the blown axle, increasing its lateral bearing capacity, and improving the stability of the vehicle.
