Volkswagen sub-brand Scout invests $14.4 billion in U.S. factory

Scout, a new electric car brand under Volkswagen, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new factory near Columbia, South Carolina, USA. The factory has an investment of US$2 billion (approximately RMB 14.4 billion) and a planned annual production capacity of 200,000 vehicles. Scout said that all pickup trucks and SUV models produced in the factory in the future will be built on a newly designed all-electric platform.
